The Who: Susana Tasi (S.T)
What went down: The show featured stylish and self-assured clothing that exuded both fun and sophistication. Oh, and lots of shades of green.
“The collection showcased was dedicated to her Mum’s narrative in migrating to New Zealand in the 60’s from the small village of Falelima, Savai’i in Samoa”.
Highlight: Seeing the gorgeous red woven garment that came out first on the runway. I had the pleasure of seeing this whole outfit last year during S.T.’s debut show at the Pacific Fashion Fusion Show. It wowed me then, and it wowed me now. I think I held my breath the whole time the model was on the runway.
Another big highlight was the model who appeared to have blindness, he looked effortlessly cool in his green ensemble. We love to see this kind of representation.
The beauty: I can spot a sharp eyeliner flick from a distance, and this show did not disappoint. I even noticed a few male models with eyeliner.
Random thoughts: So many gorgeous textures and shades of green, as a big fan of wearing colour, I was ecstatic to see a non-neutral showcase of colours on the catwalk. Also, I loved the soft, plushy green frock that made an appearance. More furry dresses please and thank you.
One of the models was dressed in a soft green fabric outfit reminiscent of Robin Hood's style. It felt like something straight out of a fairy tale.
What I wore: My first outfit for the day included my trusty Layplan dress, unbranded white button-up shirt, Silk & Steel silver necklace, and Princess Polly flats which were a secondhand gift from my sister.
3 words to describe the show: Confident. Classic. Elegance.
Catwalk soundtrack vibe: Loud and gritty was the theme. With tracks like Interferences by Midnite and the raw, thumping Drums of Midgard by Bjorth.
Fragrance I wore: Autumn Vibes from Maison Margiela - warm, comforting, spicy. Just how I like my hugs.
If I could apply a scent to this catwalk moment: Warm sandalwood and an earthy, bitter oakmoss.
