The Who: Jacqueline-Anne
What went down: The show began with a model wearing a showstopping black flowing cape down the runway to a thumping soundtrack. They then treated the audience to chartreuse dresses, block-coloured tailored two-piece suits, platform heels, feathered shoulders, and party dresses with equally loud colours.
Highlight: The drum and bass soundtrack which completely threw me but left me wanting to hear more. The colour Chartreuse, which I’ve always loved, made an appearance more than once - I think your average human is worried about wearing it, but it was having a moment during this show. And of course, dry ice at the beginning of the show, yes, I’m a child.
The beauty: The models at the event had eye-catching makeup with bold eyeshadow and striking lashes. Some even had moko designs. As a vintage hairstyle enthusiast, I appreciated the fabulous backcombed updos on display. Additionally, I couldn't help but notice the long, pointed manicured nails that matched the colours of the outfits. A well-planned manicure always impresses me.
Random thoughts: The background music was unexpectedly delightful with sounds of native birds woven into the bass drops.
What I wore: A black Mane Project dress, with Dr Martens and a navy vintage blazer. I took along my chocolate brown leather Coach bag.
3 words to describe the show: Unapologetic. Elegant. Unexpected.
Catwalk soundtrack vibe: Think…. Predator (Cyberoptix Remix) by Chrispy.
Fragrance I wore: My custom earthy, woody blend that I made via Perfume Playground. Utterly obsessed with DIY perfumes now, don’t come for me. I know how pretentious that sounds.
If I could apply a scent to this catwalk moment: A sharp and invigorating lime citrus.
